love cuts the strings is a damn hard song to strum. i can't play it with the correct strum, but i can give a little bit of the intensity by correctly doing the guitar part that comes after every verse. the chords are G,C,D, and a fucked up F thing that looks like this E A D G B E | | | | | | 1st fret | | | 1 | | 2nd fret | | 2 3 4 3rd fret that is also the kind of C you should play (i.e.) E A D G B E | | | | | | | | 1 | | | | 2 | | 3 4 so all you have to do on the verse is move your 1&2 fingers the song goes G C G C F C F C G the first thing that happened was the river overflowed {that is not as hard as it looks. just run between the F and the C in any combination, as long as you get back to the G in time to start the next verse.} all the verses are like the first D C G C F C F C G then love summoned up the infantry

F# 244322 B: x2444(2) E: x7999(7)
F# B E E B F# x4
verse: F# B F# B E E B F# First thing that happened was the river over flowed The water running through the street was sweet and cold I knelt over the water like a doe at a stream Punch-drunk snow blind as if the whole thing were a bad dream
C# B F# B E E B F# And then love called out the heavy artillery Kypris took the horses by the bit for the morning ride I'd count my blessings but you can only be expected to count so high When love cuts the strings
I smeared my self with penny-royal to keep the hounds at bay And you poked your head out from an alley half a block away I recognized you though I'm not sure how F# B# F# And the air turned red around you as a dull chill came down over me
And then love summoned up the infantry And the Green-eyed Goddess got ready for all out war I'd count my blessings but I don't even know what the word “blessing” means When love cuts the strings Yeah!
