The entire guitar is tuned just a couple cents sharp from D Standard 
(a lot of his earlier recording are like this) and I have a suspicion 
that during his early boombox recordings his main/only guitar was an 
old beater that couldn't hold the strings at full pitch. Or he detuned
it to match his voice (like hendrix).
